DId you know that at NexT Fit Clubs, we offer Semi-Private training on top of our usual 1-on-1 training? NOW YOU KNOW! So, what exactly do we offer for folks that want to participate in Semi-Private training and who is it good for? This is an excellent option for groups of 2 or more with similar or flexible training schedules that want to learn how to improve their fitness TOGETHER! During your sessions, you’ll work with a partner or a small group (up to 6!) to reach your goals! Training privately might not be something you’re interested in currently and this is an awesome alternative to keep yourself in check with a structured program and some heavy accountability! But is this option right for you? Here are some of the benefits of signing up for Semi-Private!

Accountability

We all know that having a regularly scheduled appointment with a trainer can do wonders for our accountability. When we have a specific time slot to meet with a trainer, we tend to be on time and consistent. No one wants to cancel a scheduled appointment and it keeps you on track. Now, imagine having even more accountability by knowing you’d be letting your best friend or family member down if you miss that appointment? You’d likely be more motivated to get out of bed and get to the gym if you know you’re working out with your bestie.

Motivation

Do you thrive with a little bit of healthy competition? While I usually tell people not to compare themselves with others, sometimes a little comparison can help you strive for a goal. Maybe you’re lifting with your friends and you notice everyone else is able to squat a little bit more weight? Now you have a new goal to help increase your strength so you can keep up. Maybe you’re stronger than your buddy, but they can push the sled way faster and have a much greater lung capacity? Now you’re racing to keep up so you can beat their time! Having someone alongside you to help you push a little harder, go a little faster, and train a little heavier can really ignite the fire inside of you to help you go the extra mile (literally!)

Budget-friendly

Training is a big investment into your health and overall well-being. That money is being used now to help prep you to be the fittest and most capable version of yourself in the future so you can hopefully avoid expensive medical bills in the future. But it can be a pricey investment that you’re not currency ready for. Training with a friend or two can help bring down costs so you can both benefit from working with a trainer in a more economical way! BONUS: you save money while being able to commiserate about your sessions throughout the week. That’s some great bonding right there!

These are just a few of the great things that could come about while you’re working with a group. While there are a ton of benefits, I would also consider two additional items if you’re thinking about making the jump into Semi-Private.

Fitness Level

While you don’t have to have the exact same fitness ability as those you’re working with, it might be in your best interest to group up with those who are fairly similar in goals and skill. If you’re a powerlifter who wants a huge deadlift, it may not benefit you to sign up to train alongside your colleague who lives for calisthenics.

Availability

Scheduling can be tricky for some folks. We get it! You have a life and that’s important to maintain. Some things you’d have to consider with your training schedule are your work schedule, family and home priorities, kids drop off/pick up, and childcare availability. If you’re an early bird who has to get it all in before the sun comes up just so you can make it to work on time, you’d want to consider working with those who are on a similar schedule and have similar morning habits. Or perhaps the morning is just never going to happen, you’ll want someone who has some afternoon flexibility or some time after work to get their workout in. If you and those in your group are flexible and can work out some agreed upon days and times to get it all in, then that’s going to be a great match for you.

Consider all of the benefits you could get out of Semi-Private training and think about all of the people in your life! Maybe you’ve got a family member, a good friend, or a coworker who could benefit from training alongside you! This could be an awesome opportunity to spend more time with someone you like hanging out with while working toward your fitness goals. Is there someone you’d like to get fit with?
